Aether I

The idea behind is painting a street in a city of machines. The final result will be one (or several) shots of one street. But apart from that I'll go through designing every single character on it, as well as the progress on the city itself to create one truly complex enviroment.

The first one is the street musician:

Over Dramatic

Posting this because it is too long for photobucket (it reduces it to 1024 making it blurry)So the theme was "over dramatic", basically a dramatic depiction of a trivial or mundane activity. I came up with the idea of a truly serious game of tick tack toe which would end with one player murdering the other out of anger. (note that the winner is always the same, and how the drawings and reaction become more and more extreme as the painting procedes towards the blood-soaked hand)

Two Minute Dreams

Knights Who Say Ni! + another quick sketch

For those who've seen "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" I made a really fast speedfanart.
I'm also adding one quick doodle I drew yesterday. (It takes up actually more place than my knights)

Update

A few recent pieces.

Pied Piper of

My entry for the contest called "Pimp This Sketch" at www.polykarbonbbs.comThere was this cat character so I was considering some background to it. I realized that cats hunt mice and knew that the Pied Piper did the same so I somehow wanted to connect those two concepts (I have always wanted to paint the Piper). The kids, as well as the cat, wear masks since that's what the whole story is about (also historically). The piper was supposed to get rid of rats but later took the children too. When I was younger the story really creeped me out. The piper was such a mysterious character, partly really scary but on the other hand there was still something attracting to him. Now I consider it one of the best tales ever. Has the right amount of magic, mystery and fear in a pretty solid story.
